Hi FPP!
I’m a long time FPP listener and I wanted to take some time and give you guys some feedback on the FPP store and the POLAROID Land Camera Automatic 100 I purchased last week. I have been kicking around the idea of getting an instant camera for some time but it always seemed a bit complicated with the different types of cameras and film. You guys finally won me over and I checked out the FPP store and bought the Polaroid Land Camera Automatic 100. You made it easy to pick the right film and gave some great tips on how to use the film and camera before you commit to the purchase. A++ guys!
This morning I took the camera with me to work and loaded a cassette of FP-3000B black and white film. Despite watching the (instructional) DVD several times and being REALLY careful with the black card it ripped right from the get-go but since you bring this up in the video I already had a roll of masking tape with me and was able to finally get the card out.
At lunch time I ran out the door to take a short walk in my neighbourhood to check out my “new” camera. I took the first picture of SFMOMA at Yerba Buena Gardens and peeled the film right away. WOW! I was blown away! The tonality and sharpness was amazing! I continued by taking pictures in different light situations to get a feel for the camera and it didn’t let me down. They all came out great (in my opinion) and I’m really happy you guys helped me take the plunge in to instant photography.
Next week I’ll be taking a 4 day trip to Yosemite and I plan on shooting a lot of instant, both black and white and some color (mixed with loads of 35mm, 120 and 4×5…). I’ll be more than happy to report back after my trip with some shots.
You guys ROCK!!!
