Join FPP at the Obscura Darkroom Grand Opening Event in Newark NJ!

January 8, 2019

The Obscura Darkroom will kick off a weekend “open house” with a Grand Opening Event beginning at 7pm Friday January 11, 2019 at its new location at 50-60 Dickerson St Suite 203 Newark NJ 07103. (Grand opening Facebook page here) FPPers Michael Raso, Leslie Lazenby, Mat Marrash, Mark Dalzell, John Fedele and Mark O’Brien will be attending!
The brainchild of NJ based fine art film photographer and avid home developer Jennifer Zehner, who funded her dream using the Kickstarter crowd funding site, the Obscura Darkroom is the first and only public darkroom in the state of New Jersey (previously NJ film photographers had to travel all the way to Brooklyn).  Offering printing classes for teens and adults, open darkroom hours, memberships and a gallery space devoted exclusively to analog photography, the Obscura Darkroom is well positioned to support and nourish the growing NJ film photography community.

If you’re within commuting distance, join us (The Film Photography Project gang) at Friday’s event to support this exciting new resource for NJ film photographers. And, thanks to all of you who helped make this happen by donating to Jennifer’s Kickstarter campaign!
Want to hear Jennifer talk up her community darkroom dream?  Listen to FPP episode 199.
