The Film Photography Project Announces
“THE SILENT DEAD”!
Inspired by the flood of requests for FPP to record tutorials about film making on Super 8 Film, we decided to put a super short Super 8 film into production!
“The Silent Dead”, a 2-minute parody of the popular television series “The Walking Dead” (‘cause Super 8 lacks audio.) went into production September 27th in Dayton, Ohio. It premiered on the FPP YouTube Channel Halloween 2015. Shortly thereafter, FPP will begin uploading instructional videos, focusing on the strengths and challenges of shooting on Super 8.

“The Silent Dead” is produced by the Film Photography Project and directed / edited by Henrique Couto. Ohio-based Henrique Couto has already completed 13 feature length digital films and would have never thought that he’s have the opportunity to shoot on film…until now!
“The Silent Dead” was shot on the vintage Minolta XL601 camera on Kodak Vision 3 50D super 8 film. Processing and digital transfer was completed by Pro8mm.
