Join Film Photography Podcast founder Michael Raso and hosts Leslie Lazenby, Mat Marrash and Mark O’Brien for an action-packed weekend celebration of film photography featuring demonstrations, guest speakers, special offers and more! Join fellow film enthusiasts of all levels for this unique experience both in and around Findlay’s historic Jones mansion.
Special guests:
Robert Hamm – Founder of the Hamm Camera Company and inventor of the NuBox 1 120 Box Camera. Expanding his interest in photography to the mechanics of cameras, in 2015 he started repairing old cameras and lenses. He didn’t know it at the time, but this endeavor would lay the groundwork for the NuBox 1 box camera.
Joseph Brunjes – 8×10 Wet Plate Photographer. Joseph Brunjes is no stranger to Film Photography Podcast listeners. A graduate of ICP in New York City, Joseph will chat and demonstrate wet plate photography.
Phil Steblay (TheDarkroom.com) – TheDarkroom’s original photo lab in the San Francisco Bay Area dates back to 1976, but their heritage goes back to the 1940’s. Like most great photo labs, The Darkroom was started by photographers for photographers.

Meet & Greet / Hosted by Leslie Lazenby, Michael Raso and the FPP “Gang”
Location: The Jones Mansion
6 – 9 PM
Sign in and collect your name tag, itinerary and tickets for Saturday morning’s “Tricky Tray” (raffle) table, then mingle with other photographers over complementary appetizers and soft drinks, or cocktails from the cash bar.
An FPP Retail Store Table with an assortment of films and other exclusive products will be products will be available for those in need of film or misc. supplies.

9 AM – 6 PM
Kick off Saturday’s activities with complimentary coffee, tea, juice and continental breakfast during our Opening Welcome, then cast your tickets for your favorite vintage camera gear in our “Tricky Tray” (raffle) table! Once the prizes are distributed, we’ll gather outside for a group photo.
Demonstrations (times to be confirmed):
Film formats – Michael Raso will lead a show-and-tell on all available film formats including 110, 126, 35mm, 120, 620, 4×5 and 8×10, as well as demonstrate how to load and use the Fakmatic 35mm to 126 adapter film adapter.
Hamm Camera Company – Guest speaker Robert Hamm will demonstrate his invention, the all-new Nu-Box 1 120 box camera!
Wet Plate – this demonstration by Joseph Brunjes will answer your questions “what is wet plate?”,“what is tin type?” and more! Due to the nature of this chemistry, this demo will be held outside.
Large Format Photography – FPP host and large format photographer Mat Marrash will demystify this format by demonstrating his accessible approach to shooting large format photography.
Home Processing – Leslie Lazenby and Mark O’Brien demonstrate the new home processing kits, the FPP C-41 Kit (color) and the new FPP Super Monobath (bw). Aren’t developing your own film yet? You’ll learn how!
Lunch and Misc. – you are welcome to explore the vibrant area surrounding the Jones Mansion at any point during the day and return for the next scheduled event or demonstration. There are many great places to grab lunch, as well as some fantastic photographic opportunities including,
Car Tunes – For decades, thousands of car lovers have celebrated summertime in Downtown Findlay with a showcase of cars. The tradition continues with “Car Tunes on Main,” a family event and car show in Northwest Ohio which will include a community cruise, a car show in downtown Findlay, specialty cars on display, family activities area, great music all day long! After Car Tunes stay in Downtown Findlay for Feast on the Street!
Northwest Ohio Antique Machine Show and Flea Market – This is a great place to shoot old farm gear and machinery. Plenty of food vendors and fun! (please note there may be an admission price)

What is The FPP Walking Workshop? Rather than a standard, sit-down or classroom scenario, FPP Walking Workshop is a fluid, fun weekend of casual yet key instruction on all formats of traditional photography including Instant, 110, 126, 35mm, 120, 620, 4×5 and 8×10. Bring your fav film cameras or check out a camera from the FPP Free Rental Closet!

Note: Film photography and Super 8, 16mm movie making is allowed through the entire event. Please, no video or recording of our presentations on your smart phone or similar robotic device.
