FPP Episode 58 – Shoe Notes! (What Show!!!)
FPP Listener Tony Kwong donated a Polaroid Big Swinger! Unlike earlier versions of the Swinger, it takes the familiar Fujifilm pack film (specifically the 3000 speed – Fuji FP-3000b and Polaroid 667).
FPP Listener Georg Holderied designed a website (back in the 1990s) known as the Hackers Guide to the SX-70. The site is dedicated to the modification and maintaining of Polaroid SX-70 camera including conversion to take 600 films and installing a PC Socket. You can find the site here: http://www.chemie.unibas.ch/~holder/SX70.html
Mat Marrash brings up the topic of rangefinder cameras. These small, light weight cameras offer the photographer a chance to see the world around their camera as they take the photo and are often much quieter than their SLR cousins. Some famous rangefinders are of course the Leica system, Yashica Electro 35, Konica C35, and the Contax G series.
Mark introduced the Yashica-44 – a Twin-Lens Reflex Camera that uses 127 film and produces a 4×4 image. One of the good things about 127 cameras is that it’s very easy (and not destructive) to adapt them to take 35mm film (allowing for sprocket hole photography).
